Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (8 June 1996 – 12 September 2023), known professionally as MohBad was a Nigerian Singer, Rapper and influencer from Lagos. Mohbad a former Marlian music signee was pronounced death on Monday 18th September 2023. Speculations about his mysterious demise has caused a swell reaction on social media with fingers pointed at Naira Marley and Sam Larry for being responsible.
Mohbad was Sign to Marlin Music also know as “Marlian gang” own by street sensation and self acclaimed Marlian president, Azeez Adeshina Fashola professionally known as Naira Marley.
What started as a beautiful experience turned out to be chaotic for Mohbad who is now late. He claimed Naira Marley is violent in his dealing with signees and showed proof of how he was assaulted by fellow Marlian gang members because he wanted a different manager assigned to him. Also before his passing early last year 2022 precisely, Mohbad and Zinolesky another Marlian signee and artist were arrested by the NDLEA at the Marlian residence and a search was carried out and unsafe materials (contraband) were found on them. Though only Mohbad was taking into custody. The late singer immediately took to social media seeking for help saying he was forced to drink a substance unknown to him the the NDLEA. The rant caused quite a buzz on social media and subsequently he left the Music label and gang Marlian Music.
In an unfortunate turn of event, Mohbad complained during interviews stating his former label boss and the Marlians have been Constantly issuing threats, and also stopping show promoters from giving him gigs all in an effort to frustrate his career. He was blacklisted from doing tours and the royalties from his music catalog during his time at former label Marlian were seized.
With support from industry colleagues like Zlatan and Bella Shmurda he managed to revive his career, with a few music releases .
Not long after this the sad news hit Mohbad was pronounced death on Tuesday the caused of his death unknown, and he was buried immediately in the most in humane manner. Really sad for someone as talented as Mohbad A.K.A imole.
Without relenting and leaving no stone un-turned, Nigerians and friends have mobilized to get to the root of this sad situation. His body has been recovered to do a proper autopsy and Friday fixed by fellow celebrities, fans and well wishers to pay him their last respect.
In all justice must be served to who ever is found as responsible for this loss of life. He was best known for his hit singles “Ponmo, Feel Good”, and “KPK (Ko Por Ke)”
